Canine Good Neighbour – Saturdays @ 11:00 a.m.

Please note this class takes place at The Hydeout.

For students who have graduated from Puppy Play to Learn, Foundation Fun 101 or equivalent, take your training further with this Intermediate-style real-world manners and obedience class. This class trains for the twelve skills of a Canine Good Neighbour, including but not limited to: Accepting Friendly Strangers, Loose Leash Walking, Walking Politely through a Crowd, Stays, Recalls, Switching between Play and Calm Behaviours, Dealing with Distractions, Passing by a Dog, Supervised Isolation and Doorway Etiquette. Along with the core tests, we will be dealing with sequencing behaviours, delaying rewards and the process of removing food for well-known skills. At our last class we will run through a mock Canine Good Neighbour test.

Before taking this class your dog should have good to strong classroom skills in focus and self-control. They should have no behaviour challenges with humans other dogs -either fearfully or over enthusiastically. Dogs who are overly/problematically jumpy or reactive to others (humans or dogs) are not yet ready for this class. If you unsure if your dog is ready for the Canine Good Neighbour class, please give us a shout.

No class May 25th.
