This class is located at an acreage just north of the city. This acreage has horses. Dogs MUST be kept away from the horses and must not be livestock aggressive, human-aggressive/reactive or dog-aggressive/reactive for this class.
Please note that even though this class is outdoors, we do ask participants to bring masks as we may sometimes be in close contact.
Please note that disc classes will focus A LOT on the human end. Dogs will take 1-2 turns throughout the lesson, on a long-line for added safety if required. When it is not your dog’s turn, your dog must be in your vehicle, ideally crated. A crate beside the vehicle (covered) is fine too. You will not be allowed to tether your dog to your vehicle.
If your dog is catching some frisbees, whether in the air or rolled across the ground, you might just enjoy the dog sport of disc. But competition can be a little intimidating! Don’t let the word competition worry you! UpDog is a very novice friendly competition venue and throughout this class, we will introduce you to a variety of the UpDog games you will see in competition! Come learn what each game is about, how to earn points, strategies for the games and have fun learning them with your dog too! Every night we’ll test out different games.
You do not need to be interested in high-level competition! You only need to be interested in playing super fun games with your dog. For this class, you only need
- A dog who reliably comes -off leash or on a dragline
- A dog who generally brings their disc back
- A bit of bravery to jump into the dog sport
- At least two dog-safe discs
